Need a new pencil case? How about making one from plastic soda bottle instead of buying from the bookstore? Aside from spending less money, you get to help mother nature by recycling. :)
I personally think they’re cuter than the usual pencil cases, especially if you choose a bright zipper to go with it. Plus finding markers is easier with the way they are stored in here! What do you think?
Materials:
- 2 pieces of Liter Soda Bottles
- Small piece of Felt Paper
- Zipper
Tools:
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Cutter
Steps:
Cut them at desired height and wash thoroughly.
I cut my tall one at 4″ and the short is 2 1/4″…Make sure they are as tall as the things you want to put inside…like pencils, pens or markers! Best way to do it…cut the bottle way higher than desired height and taper down gradually.
You’ll need a colored zipper…bright colors give it a pop! Measure the zipper to fit around the circumference of the bottle. Cut off the “stopper” end of the zipper to length.
Use hot glue and secure some felt on the end of the zipper.
This will keep the zipper from coming off the rails completely.
